River Orb at Béziers, the twelfth century bridge built on Roman foundations, and crowning the outcrop, is the Cathedral of St Nazaire

The Cathedral replaces one destroyed in 1209 during the Albigensian wars by Simon de Montfort. The bridge is the ancient route of the Via Domitia, the Roman road.
